If I were…the trees
I could bend for you
I could be cut, and molded into shapes
If I was…the wood
I could ply for you
I could build you homes and little children’s toys
If I am…the dust
I could swirl round you
I could draw sweet tears from your widened eyes
But I…am just…a man
Bowed down for you
Building fires and tiny wooden trains

‘Am’ is the beginning of the Pinocchioian transformation from wood to flesh…Ta Doo!
You kmow…as in "God made man from dust…"

Where can I find some good cross stitch Christmas stocking patterns?
Posted on 30. Aug, 2010 by Toy Expert.
Growing up, my mom stitched Christmas stockings for our whole family and I’d like to do the same thing for my husband and I. I’m looking for something that is not childish and not terribly complicated. I’d prefer something with his and hers versions.
For example, my dad’s stocking has a workshop theme…where they make little wooden trains and boy toys like that. My mom’s was a scene where they made dolls and girly toys…
Also, any tips on the same kind of thing for pet stockings? We have 2 pugs, a male and a female, and they’re like our kids.
Feel free to add any other information you feel might be beneficial when venturing out onto this kind of a project!

Which Thomas the Tank Engine figures (with magnets) are the standard size for the tracks?
Posted on 24. Jul, 2010 by Toy Expert.
My son has just begun a Thomas the Tank Engine collection including small figures with magnets. It seems we have 2 different sizes of trains. One train was purchased alone (at Target) and is plastic. The other trains are wooden and came with DVDs we purchased. These trains also seem to be a bit bigger as each of the wooden trains have wheels that are spaced out farther than the plastic train mentioned earlier. We would like to expand his collection and purchase tracks for the trains, but we do not know which of the trains are "standard." Do we continue the plastic, smaller trains or the wooden, larger trains? Does anyone know exactly? There isn’t a major difference in the size, but there is one. Thanks in advance!

What century would "old fashioned" clothing be in?
Posted on 15. Jul, 2010 by Toy Expert.
Okay right, i’m writing a story and basically i want it set in old times. You know when you have that image in your head of little girls wearing pretty frocks and ribbons in their hair, men in long coats with posh bowler hats smoking a pipe, and women in big dresses and nice hats … i’d really love to know what year about people wore that sorta stuff.
Also if it helps, when there was big open fires in living rooms; wooden, creaking staircases; and stockings at christmas full with toy wooden trains and books and dolls, hehe ![]()

Does anyone know where I can get a list of all the Thomas the tank engine wooden trains?
Posted on 20. Jun, 2010 by Toy Expert.
I found a list of the 67 characters but their are many more wooden trains. My son loves Thomas and we are trying to collect all of the trains including the special editions. There doesn’t seem to be a complete list of the trains only many partial lists.
