Anyone else's toddlers obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine?

I think I’m looking for a little sympathy more than anything else! LOL, my son talks about Thomas CONSTANTLY and begs to watch movies all day long. Today he’s not feeling 100% because of his allergies so I caved in, but this guy can play with those trains all day long! He sets up his tracks, he recites lines from the movies, he makes the trains talk to each other. It’s really cute & I know he’s using his imagination playing with his own trains, but it’s kind of making me batty!!!
This is my 2nd time around with Thomas also! My brother, who’s almost 20, was also obsessed with Thomas. Not to the point of my son, who cries out for "Thomas and Percy" in his sleep! That’s very funny, I have to admit! After almost 20 years of Thomas, I’m burnt out!!!! LOL
And he is absolutely NOT allowed to watch Barney!!!! I’d sooner slit my throat!!! No Yo Gabba Gabba either! I’m convinced that show is going to cause early drug usage in most children!

help with a christmas song?

I was hoping you could help me with the name of a song I’ve been looking for and rarely hear. It’s about this guy, ( the narrator) who is telling (not singing) this story over some background music gets on a train on christmas eve and he recalls memories from when he was a kid at christmas time and coming in from playing in the snow and then after a while, his attention turns to this woman also on the the train whos crying and holding her newborn baby. He sits by her and holds her hand to console her and he puts is coat around her. When he gets up to leave, she says "merry Christmas" to him. I don’t believe it’s from Polar Express because I’ve heard this song long before Polar Express ever came out. If you could help me out on this, I would be so grateful!

It Scares Me. Does It You?

Just to make sure this was true, I went on Oprah’s website and
there it is. The below article is very interesting, so I thought I
would share.

Oprah joins false prophets Bible warned about

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/007/smith-oprah.htm or

"Oprah and Friends" to teach course on New Age Christ

Jesus Christ being reinvented, redefined, and blasphemed and,
this false New- Age Christ teaching is about to make huge inroads into the world, with the help of t he queen of television talk shows, Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah Winfrey, began January 1, 2008, on her daily radio
program will offer a year-long course on the New Age Christ , in a
lesson a day and completely cover the 365 lessons from the Course in
Miracles "Workbook."

Listeners were encouraged to buy A Course in Miracles for
the year-long course, and an audio version, recited by Richard (John BoyWalton) Thomas will be available on compact disc.

Those who finish the Course will have a wholly redefined
spiritual mindset-a New Age worldview that include the beliefs that
there is no sin, no evil, no devil. A Course in Miracles teaches its
students to rethink everything they believe about God and life, and,
bluntly states: "This is a course in mind training" and is dedicated to
"thought reversal."

The Course in Miracles -in reality-is the truth of the Bible
turned upside down.

Oprah told her television audience that Williamson’s book, A
Course in Miracles was one of her favorite books, and that she had
already bought a thousand copies and would be handing them out to
everyone in her studio audience. Oprah’s endorsement skyrocketed
Williamson’s book to the top of the New York Times bestseller list .

A Course in Miracles is allegedly a "new revelation" from
"Jesus" to help humanity work through these troubled times. This
"Jesus"-who bears no doctrinal resemblance to the Bible’s Jesus
Christ-began delivering channeled teachings in 1965 to a Columbia
University Professor of Medical Psychology, Helen Schucman.

One day Schucman heard an "inner voice" stating, "This is a
course in miracles. Please take notes." For seven years she diligently
took spiritual dictation from this voice that described himself as
"Jesus."

Here are some quotes from the "Jesus" voice of A Course in Miracles :

. "There is no sin . . . "

. A "slain Christ has no meaning."

. "The journey to the cross should be the last ‘
useless journey."

. "Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the
old rugged cross.’"

. "The Name of Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol…
It is a symbol that is safely used as a replacement for the many names
of all the gods to which you pray."

. "The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself."

. "The Atonement is the final lesson he [man] need
learn, for it teaches him that, never having sinned, he has no need of
salvation."

Popular author Wayne Dyer told his PBS television audience that
the "brilliant writing" of A Course in Miracles would produce more
peace in the world.

The Course in Miracles-based book, Forgiveness, continues to be
sold in Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral bookstore as Schuller
prepares to host a January 17-19, 2008, "Rethink Conference" at his
Crystal Cathedral.

2 Timothy 3 (King James Version)

King James Version (KJV)

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.

It’s not surprising at all that Oprah Winfrey is supporting
Barak Obama!!!
Christians…..Take heed!!

And PLEASE pass this one on…..if you never forward anything else!
Yes Indeed there r more examples of bad Christians then there r good. I will grant U that.

The only reason people take this course because they can no longer live in fear of be held accountable by a higher power then themselves.
In the end u can not claim I did not know. You knew. You ignored.
Is This the beginning of the end. In the Bible it tells us of false phrophets and false God in the end times. So is this the Beginning of the END????????????????? If so do you feel u r ready to meet THE FATHER,The CREATOR of ALL things?

How to tell a first edition book?

Posted on 12. Mar, 2011 by Toy Expert.

I have an old copy of ‘The Polar Express" and would like to know what edition it is. I know that there is supposed to be a number line but there isn’t.

On the copyright page, it gives the Library of congress catalog card number (85-10907), a quick summary of the book (a magical train ride on Christmas Eve takes a boy to the North Pole to receive a special gift from santa).

Then it has some numbers:
PZ7.V266Po 1985 {E} 85-10907
ISBN 0-395-38949-6
Also, it is a fabric covered book, no jacket

US/ Iran war…House Resolution 362..Did anyone else here see this yet?

US House of Representatives Resolution #362 basicly declares war with Iran.. I am just hearing about it…. has anyone more details? I am afraid this might also effect anyone with previous military duty in Egypt. Some friends here in government have mentioned this possibility.

H.CON.RES 362 "demands" that the President impose "stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains and cargo entering or departing Iran.", which would require a US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz

Link to Full Text of Resolution 362

The link sorry

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:S.RES.580:

And yes ppl.. I said BASICLY declares war.. I know the difference….but what I mean’t by that statement was that Iran will consider the actions outlined in the res. as an act of war.. and Ahmadinejad has already made thourogh statements about such action, and has begun beefing up military for such action. And recently fired upon American ships in waters near Iran

How do you get a toddler to "TRY IT" (take one bite of food they look at and say they don't like)?

Posted on 20. Feb, 2011 by Toy Expert.

19

I have tried:

Saying he won’t get dessert if he doesn’t try it
Saying he won’t be able to {do something fun, like go to the park, etc] if he doesn’t try it
Saying he will go to bed if he doesn’t try it
Saying he won’t be able to watch any TV if he doesn’t try it
Saying that "James and Thomas (the trains) love this food so he should try it" (his favorite toys)
Singing the Yo Gabba Gabba song "try it, you’ll like it"

None of the above work.

If he sees something he *thinks* he doesn’t like or just doesn’t like how it looks he won’t even take a bite or try it.

He’s 3. Advice?
Um yeah I have tried giving him a choice, sauces, dipping, and pretty much every single thing mentioned here and no dice. He simply refuses.

I have tried all of the above on different occasions, not on the same night. None of it affects him.

Can someone interpret this dream?

Posted on 14. Feb, 2011 by Toy Expert.

Last night, I dreamt that my crush and I were on a swing set swinging back and forth and having a conversation (I don’t remember what it was about though). I remember swinging really high. Then I remember that we ended up in this living room that kind of looked like mine and we were still talking and having a good time.
I saw this plant to my right and the leaves were turning yellow and I said something like, "Since the leaves are kind of yellow, it means we’ll always be friends" (he was moving away soon in the dream and he actually is, too in real life).
Next thing I knew, he just took off and moved away without saying goodbye (which he usually does sometimes when we talk on Facebook) on some kind of train that looked like something from Polar Express. I remember getting really upset, too.

What is this dream trying to tell me? Is it more literal than figurative?
Rewording the question: what does my dream MEAN?

How can I get my potty-trained 2-year-old to wear his underwear?

Posted on 15. Jan, 2011 by Toy Expert.

3

My third son, who turned two in September, has been an absolute breeze to potty train. He now uses his potty with no assistance necessary, never has accidents and just started doing #2 in the potty as well. He still wears diapers at night time, but that is it. My problem is that he REFUSES to wear his underwear. He starts by saying, "No want, mommy!", then if I persist begins to cry, scream, kick and hit. If I actually manage to get them on him, he starts freaking out trying to yank them down and acts as if they hurt his penis. Right now, he is spending every day bare bottomed, as I feel it would be counter productive to put the diapers on him. What I want to know is if anyone has any advice on how I can get him to wear them? He is an extremely strong-willed little boy, and taking him to the store to pick out his underwear was a bust. The first time we tried, he was excited to be getting something with his favorite character, Thomas the Tank Engine, on it, but would not wear them once we got home. The second time I tried it, he started screaming in the store, "No want, Mommy!". I am at my wit’s end, as I cannot take him places with no coverage on his bottom. Any suggestions you may have would be extremely helpful!
Edit: Okay, I’m in awe, because I tried the suggestion of acting silly and trying to put his underwear on other parts of his body (arm, knee, etc.) and IT WORKED!!!!!! He is now running around in his Yo Gabba Gabba briefs, shaking his bottom for his brother and sister and happy as a clam! So thank you for that amazing suggestion, and as soon as I am able, I will choose you as best answer!!!!
