I’m looking for the song’s name from the movie called "polar express". The song starts from 1:22:55. When The main character boy find out that he had a hole in his pocket in the train, the songs start. There is no lyrics, its just humming and bells sound. It was kind of a sad melody. I’m desperately looking for the title. Thank you!

What was the name and author of this children's book about a train?

All I can remember about this book (which I read frequently as a very young child) is that it was about a boy with a train set, which he enters and conducts as if it’s real. The train is modern in nature. It isn’t a steam engine. It looks like a "bullet" train, or like a basic Lionel electric train set (red and grey.) I remember there being oval shaped windows on the train. The illustrations are more literal and straightforward than most children’s books.

Can anyone remember any books from their childhood that feature similar details? Notes: it was not "Polar Express," "The Little Train," or "Steam Engine."
EDIT: Obviously, if I’m asking here, I’ve exhausted all other avenues of research at my disposal.
Further Edit: Thanks for the suggestion of the Railway Series. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be it either. The illustrations weren’t quite that true to life but they were less "cartoony" than most children’s books of the era. I read this book in the very early 80s if that helps (although some books I read as a child dated to the 1930s, so that might not be much help at all, except for the modernity of the train in the book.)

I believe the book was a one off book, rather than part of a series.
Further note: Someone yesterday (offline) recommended Choo Choo: The Runaway Train. That wasn’t it, either.

Man, it seems this just isn’t a well known book.

help with a christmas song?

I was hoping you could help me with the name of a song I’ve been looking for and rarely hear. It’s about this guy, ( the narrator) who is telling (not singing) this story over some background music gets on a train on christmas eve and he recalls memories from when he was a kid at christmas time and coming in from playing in the snow and then after a while, his attention turns to this woman also on the the train whos crying and holding her newborn baby. He sits by her and holds her hand to console her and he puts is coat around her. When he gets up to leave, she says "merry Christmas" to him. I don’t believe it’s from Polar Express because I’ve heard this song long before Polar Express ever came out. If you could help me out on this, I would be so grateful!

Christmas presant for little cousin how do you think it sounds?

December 19th hes gunna wake up to Christmas tree shaped and colored pancakes. Then when we are done with breakfast we’re gunna watch classic Christmas movies.Then when the mailman comes I’m gunna grab the mail and im gunna have a letter I wrote from "Santa" put in there (I’m putting it in there with his name on it. And it will say-

Dear,
I heard that you have been a very good boy this year. Keep up the good work. It is almost Christmas, and me and my helpers are ready. A lot of the toys have your name on it! Since you been such a good boy, I want you to come and meet me tonight!Do you know how you’re going to get there? You’re going to ride the Polar Express to the North Pole! I have three tickets. One for you. One for your daddy. The last one is for _____. The Polar Express will pick you up at the train station in ______. You will drive the train all the way up to the North Pole! There, I will get on and I’ll ride the train all the way back home with you. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for us to eat too when we get back to _____!You have to be good on the train. If you are you will get the first gift of Christmas. Hope to see you there! Remember you have to believe!

How to tell a first edition book?

I have an old copy of ‘The Polar Express" and would like to know what edition it is. I know that there is supposed to be a number line but there isn’t.

On the copyright page, it gives the Library of congress catalog card number (85-10907), a quick summary of the book (a magical train ride on Christmas Eve takes a boy to the North Pole to receive a special gift from santa).

Then it has some numbers:

ISBN 0-395-38949-6
Also, it is a fabric covered book, no jacket
