the track doesn’t do the set justice. I am trying to build a proper layout in the basement.

Yeah, I am not allowed to have the sound on either. The Santa Fe set is nice too. Thinking about getting one.

Now that has a nice sound system.

I’ve got the old postwar Lionel NYC F3′s. Shame I don’t have any passenger cars to go with them…

Original post war set is nicer in a lot of ways, but the new sound systems are great. Check eBay for passenger sets. NYC are generally harder to find though.

Have you seen the new F3 Conventional Classics that Lionel has in the 09 catalog? They look like the originals.

highly recommended. They are the best ones available, particularly if you get one with Pullmor motors.

I have a train just like that. It is the Lionel New York Central Limited with rail sounds. Mine doesn’t have the extra engines like yours though.

What do you have under the tracks? And what size is your track? I pulled out my dad’s old o-27 and I want to put it under the tree this year.

it’s Lionel’s FasTrack. Roadbed is build into the track. I am not sure if it is considered O or O-27. Both work on it.
